As most anxious politicians will admit, the U.S. presidential race is extremely close. From certain perspectives, former President Donald Trump appears to be winning. From others, Vice President Kamala Harris is ahead.

Donald Trump is leading the betting odds. Trump has a few commanding early-voting leads.

One Week Remains: Trump Slightly Ahead in Swing States,” Jonathan Draeger revealed for Real Clear Polling on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Democrats are alarmed and growing more so by the day. Some quarters are already bracing for the worst they fear from a potential Trump return. The finger-pointing has already begun.

If Trump wins the election, NATO can expect more turbulence ahead,” predicted Dan Sabbagh for The Guardian in a common claxon refrain growing louder by the moment as Election Day approaches.

Into this mélange, the subject of newspaper endorsements has unexpectedly reared its head.

Washington Post owner Jeff Bezos infuriated his readership this week when the paper unexpectedly refused to endorse Vice President Kamala Harris. Citing a return to the centrist, objective perspective of yesterday, Bezos explained his decision in an op-ed published in the Post.
