While Republicans play obstructionist politics with Biden’s nominee for the Small Business Administration, small businesses are dying on the vine.

U.S. small business owners are struggling.

From California to Delaware they are trying desperately to find enough employees to get through the holiday season, grappling with supply-chain issues, and digging out from under the crushing weight of COVID-19.

The assistance small business owners need is much closer than they think; lawmakers in Washington have been busy over the past months. Much government largesse has been earmarked specifically to help small businesses cope with the challenges- past, present and future- caused by the pandemic and efforts to mitigate it.

If only small business owners could access the help they need, this upcoming retail season might be one of great triumph; a tale of free market capitalism and democracy performing a holiday miracle for entrepreneurs badly in need of one.

While small business owners are doing whatever they can to keep the lights on, and wondering if their operations can possibly survive 2021, President Joe Biden’s nominee for deputy administrator of the Small Business Administration is still languishing in the confirmation process.
