A month after hosting a star-studded fundraiser for President Joe Biden, George Clooney has changed his mind.
“I Love Joe Biden: But We Need a New Nominee,” wrote actor George Clooney for the New York Times on July 10, 2024.
It may have been a bit of a surprise for fans of Clooney. Only one month ago, the A-list actor was publicly rubbing elbows with President Joe Biden as Clooney joined actress Julia Roberts, former President Barack Obama, comedian Jimmy Kimmel, and actor Jack Black in a glitzy Hollywood fundraiser.
“I’m a lifelong Democrat; I make no apologies for that,” Clooney began his plea. “I’m proud of what my party represents and what it stands for. As part of my participation in the democratic process and in support of my chosen candidate, I have led some of the biggest fund-raisers in my party’s history.”
“Last month I co-hosted the single largest fund-raiser supporting any Democratic candidate ever, for President Biden’s re-election,” Clooney bragged. “I say all of this only to express how much I believe in this process and how profound I think this moment is.”
