From San Francisco to NYC, pro-Palestine protestors shut down bridges, blocked airports, and clashed with police this week. If they don’t get what they want, what next?
“Pro-Palestinian protesters shut down Golden Gate Bridge, I-880 in Oakland, causing major delays,” reported ABC7 News on Monday.
“The first protest Monday morning happened on northbound I-880 in Oakland at 5th Ave., where protesters brought barrels filled with concrete onto the highway and chained themselves to the barrels,” the outlet began. “Law enforcement had to cut through the barrels before they could arrest the protesters.”
Scenes from the protest weren’t pretty.
“Protesters arrested after shutting down Golden Gate Bridge for hours,” reported Sergio Quintana, Stephen Ellison, and Ginger Conejero Saab for NBC Bay Area News on Monday. “Traffic was blocked for nearly 5 hours before it started moving again just after noon.”
