The AZ Democratic Party is (Still) Furious With Sen. Krysten Sinema

Sinema left the Democratic Party this week to register as an Independent.

It isn’t every day that a United States Senator changes political affiliation. It’s not exactly normal in the course of politics in America.

Then again, we haven’t had a normal year since 2019. 2020 certainly wasn’t normal; nor was 2021.

2022, in spite of high hopes at the beginning of the year, has hardly been much better. COVID-19 and all the attendant strains of COVID-19 hysteria, emanating from both right and left, might be continuing to loosen their grip, but we’ve had other problems.

The world has been edging dangerously closer to an all-out global conflict, even a thermonuclear world war, in the months since Russian President Vladimir Putin invaded Ukraine in February. The world is a much more dangerous place than it was three years ago and there are major problems ahead.

All things considered, 2023 isn’t exactly shaping up to be a normal year, either.

An energy crisis is looming in Europe and a deep economic recession is on the near horizon for world economies. There is a growing likelihood that the Chinese Communist Party will soon invade Taiwan, as it has long promised to do — an event that will throw the world’s…
