Why do Democrats despise Robert F. Kennedy Jr. so much?
As Robert F. Kennedy Jr. faces day two of a grueling Capitol Hill confirmation process, the level of viciousness and ferocity of the attacks against him by elected Democrats has been something to behold.
RFK Jr.’s confirmation hearing is obviously extremely uncomfortable for a Democratic Party that has embraced and alienated him by turns.
For many progressives, would-be progressives, and former progressives, the confirmation fight over Robert F. Kennedy’s promise to “Make America Healthy Again” seems intensely personal.
“I urge everyone to call their U.S. Senators over the following days and demand they vote yes on Bobby’s nomination,” RFK’s former running mate and erstwhile Democratic Party mega-donor Nicole Shanahan requested in a statement posted to X this week. “He is more than qualified, he’s proven, principled, and prepared to lead. I’ll share a list below of key Senators. If they represent your state, they need to hear from you.”
