Pornographic movie star Stephanie Clifford AKA “Stormy Daniels” lit the Internet and television sets on fire Sunday night on 60 Minutes talking about her alleged affair with current president Donald Trump back in 2006.

Ratings were incredibly high for the interview, as Daniels revealed the story of her affair with Donald Trump to the public.

The most salacious claim she made was that somebody threatened her in 2011, although she did not know who it was, and could not prove Donald Trump had anything to do with it even if the accusation is true.

Beyond that, I hate to sound like a jerk, but why exactly am I supposed to care about this story?

All due respect to Ms. Daniels, but while her story of spanking Donald Trump with a magazine is certainly entertaining, I fail to see what the big deal is.

Is it that the president had an affair a dozen years ago? I certainly think it is wrong to cheat on your wife, but I remember a time not so long ago when we were told repeatedly that what a president does in his personal life does not matter.

I guess the rules are different if you are a politician with a “D” next to your name.

Are we seeing an uproar because Ms. Daniels was asked to sign a non-disclosure agreement and given “hush” money? I hate to burst bubbles here, but that is not all that uncommon with rich and powerful people.

I have heard people suggest the president should be impeached over this which is beyond comical.

Like it or not, people knew this part of Donald Trump’s character. He was a public figure for decades and one of the most famous people in the world. Part of his persona was to openly brag about the “hot” women he had sex with.

So precisely why would anybody be surprised by this or care about it at all?

I understand if you do not like the president and simply want to get upset over everything he does. Fine. Not exactly a healthy way to live your life, but that is up to you.

But for the rest of America, an election was held and a choice was made.

Donald Trump, a billionaire real-estate mogul from NY who made no bones about being a womanizer won the presidency.

No matter how many women come out alleging past affairs with him, the victory he achieved last November still stands and he is not going anywhere.

And as much as I hate the phrase “already baked into the cake,” it really does apply here. Go poll Trump supporters and people who hate the man.
You are going to find that those who hated him already still do and those who support him still do.

Very few people care about this because they already knew this is the type of behavior President Trump exhibits and they made their pace with it. Be upset about that all you want, but it is the truth.

The Republicans may or may not lose the House later this year. They may or may not lose the Senate. Donald Trump may or may not be re-elected in 2020.

But I can promise you this: None of those results will have anything at all to do with Stormy Daniels.
