Is it too late to instill a reverence for life in the next generation of progressive leaders?

Since the devastating and deadly terrorist attack on Israel by Hamas on October 7, 2023, young progressives have been demonstrating on campuses and in classrooms, from Brooklyn to Ohio, online and en masse.

But instead of demonstrating to demand Hamas return all hostages, too many young progressives are instead demanding Israel comply with the demands of Hamas hostage takers.

Hearing their fellow Americans excuse and justify acts of mass murder, genocide, torture, kidnapping, and rape has been difficult for many Jewish Democrats on the left.

As well it might be.

“Hamas terrorists came armed with guns and GoPros,” fumed Free Press editor and Jewish American journalist Bari Weiss this week. “They were proud of their rampage. Some of them called their fathers to boast: ‘I killed 10 Jews with my bare hands!’ And yet still their apologists try to cast doubt on reports of their crimes.”

“It is a very disorienting thing to watch as evil is denied in real time,” Weiss lamented sadly. “Especially when that evil, in the case of Hamas, was filmed and broadcast by its perpetrators.”
