Republicans Love RFK Jr.
Who would have guessed that a Kennedy would get such a warm reception from conservatives on Capitol Hill?
Though it’s suddenly and abundantly obvious to everyone that Americans badly need to “Make America Healthy Again”, Democrats on Capitol Hill are equally certain Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is not the person to do it.
Never mind that he seems to be the only person in Washington interested in the job. But while the left now seems to hate RFK Jr, as he was once affectionately known in those circles, with the fire of ten thousand suns, the right has warmed to him in equal measure.
“Mr. Kennedy, welcome,” Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI) effusively thanked Kennedy during his confirmation hearing this week. “Thank you for being here. Thank you for your decades-long advocacy for a clean environment, for children’s health.”
“I can’t say as I’m surprised by the hostility on the other side,” reflected Sen. Johnson. “I’m highly disappointed in it. I don’t know if you remember when you called me up and you were contemplating setting your political differences aside, joining forces with President Trump in an area of agreement, addressing chronic illness, trying to find the root cause of all these problems facing this nation.”
