President Joe Biden: Neither Gone Nor Forgotten
VP Kamala Harris has been embraced by Democratic Party leadership as Biden’s successor, but the Democratic Party’s troubles aren’t over.
Since President Joe Biden announced his intent to withdraw from the 2024 presidential race, the media has been a three-ring circus of speculation, doomsaying, and near hysteria.
News outlets have been awash with suggestions ranging from the absurd (“Democrats should nominate Mitt Romney!”) to hand-wringing about potential convention chaos.
There have been attempts to explain “Why President Joe Biden is retiring, but not resigning” and excuses for Democratic Party machinations post-primary.
“It was not undemocratic for the Democrats to dump Joe Biden,” as Andrew Prokop begged for Vox on Sunday.
“So it may be undemocratic in practice, but in a sense, it’s democratic in intention,” Prokop backflipped in an attempt to explain. “Because the party isn’t avoiding an election, they’re trying to win one,”
