Thus began a cavalcade of news warnings, media coverage, and legal cases sounding a serious alarm.
“Wray and other senior U.S. officials have for years been sounding the alarm not only about the Chinese government’s hacking prowess but about Beijing’s determination to steal scientific and industrial research from American businesses,” began the AP. “China has called those accusations groundless even as multiple criminal indictments have laid out detailed evidence.”
“US says it disrupted a China cyber threat, but warns hackers could still wreak havoc for Americans,” warned Didi Tang, Eric Tucker, and Frank Bajak for the Associated Press in greater detail on January 31, 2024.
