Pam Bondi to the Rescue
While media outlets may smear her, a bipartisan coalition of legal experts recently expressed support for Pam Bondi.
“Senate Judiciary Committee schedules Bondi confirmation hearings,” reported Hailey Fuchs for POLITICO yesterday. “President-elect Donald Trump’s attorney general nominee is set to testify before lawmakers next week.”
With Republicans in full control of both Congressional Houses, Ms. Bondi will likely be quickly confirmed. It’s welcome news: The sooner Washington lawmakers confirm Ms. Bondi, the sooner she can get to work.
The Attorney General’s office is set to tackle a range of critical issues in the coming year. Top priorities include bolstering cybersecurity to address ransomware attacks and data breaches, enforcing antitrust laws against monopolistic practices, and combating the opioid crisis.
The strength of Bondi’s appeal to President-Elect Donald Trump, his voters, and members of his coalition can be partially judged by the open partisanship and relentless character attacks to which progressive media outlets have stooped to assail her.
