“‘Nobody knows what I’m going to do’: Trump won’t say whether he’ll strike Iran,” reported Jacob Magid, Lazar Berman, Nava Freiberg, and Sam Sokol for the Times of Israel on June 18, 2025. “US president says Iran was only ‘a few weeks’ from the bomb; says he’s ‘had it’ with negotiations while also declaring it’s ‘not too late’ for Tehran to reach a deal; Iran denies seeking talks.”

It was a stark reminder. The ball is in the U.S. President’s court. He is taking time with the decision and playing his cards close to the vest. As for the conflict currently raging between Israel and Iran, after a terrible seven days, the war continues apace.

“Israel on Friday launched a campaign of airstrikes in Iran to decimate the Islamic Republic’s nuclear and ballistic missile programs, which Jerusalem characterized as an imminent, existential threat,” revealed Magid, Berman, Freiberg, and Sokol for the TOI. “Iran has responded with deadly barrages of ballistic missiles at civilian population centers and military targets in Israel.”
