Israeli Ambassador Expelled After Protest During Iranian President’s UN Address

“Israel Stages Lone Walkout In Raisi Speech While West Watches,” gloated the Iran International on September 19, noting that “Israel’s ambassador to the United Nations was the only diplomat to protest at President Ebrahim Raisi’s speech on Tuesday but was escorted away.”
“Israeli ambassador spirited away by UN security after mounting protest during speech by Iranian president,” reported Josh Marcus for The Independent on September 20, 2023, striking a more measured tone.

After displaying a protest sign, Israel’s ambassador to the United Nations Gilad Erdan was escorted away by a security officer.
