Israel Criticized For Hostage Rescue Operation
Hamas uses Palestinians— and Israeli hostages — as human shields.
“Israel’s Bad Month,” Kenin M. Spivak lamented for American Mind on June 7, 2024, one day before a daring daylight IDF rescue operation that recovered four hostages.
Amid strategic setbacks, increasing international pressure to abandon its war effort against Hamas, and legal censure from global governing agencies, Israel has vowed to continue its efforts to defeat Hamas and recover hostages taken during the October 7 attack on Israel.
“IDF rescues four hostages from Hamas captivity in daring Gaza operation,” reported Yonak Jeremy Bob for the Jerusalem Post on June 8, 2024. “Israeli forces conducted a daring rescue operation in Gaza, liberating four hostages. The mission faced intense gunfire but succeeded, tragically costing the life of a Yamam fighter.”
“Regarding the third such successful operation to rescue hostages since the war started on October 7, the IDF said that the rescued hostages were Noa Argamani (25,) Almog Meir (21,) Andrey Kozlov (27,) and Shlomi Ziv (40,) all of whom were kidnapped by Hamas to the Gaza Strip from the ‘Nova’ party, noted Yonak.
The news was met with delight in Israel.
