With each passing week, Iran’s rouge regime is getting closer to The Bomb and the world is getting closer to a new era.

It’s August, and all is peaceful on Capitol Hill at the moment.

With Congress out of session, elected officials and their staff members have — quietly and not so quietly — retreated to their home districts to touch base with constituents, local business owners, and community leaders.

For what is shaping up to be a season of Congressional hearings, August is merely the eye of the storm. In September as in July, Congressional Republicans are holding a series of hearings on everything from Hunter Biden to the Afghanistan withdrawal.

While the former is getting a great deal of attention — at least from conservative press outlets — the latter is receiving significantly less.

Though the testimony from survivors of the controversial Afghanistan withdrawal undertaken by the Biden Administration in 2021 has been devastating, the post-operation examination has only just begun.

The aftereffects of the precipitous Afghanistan withdrawal will likely impact U.S. Middle East policy in the years and decades to come in ways U.S. foreign policy experts and elected officials can’t yet imagine.
