Donald Trump: Wild Card or Joker?

Is Trump trying to hurt the Republican Party on purpose? Because he certainly doesn’t seem to be helping it much these days.

Washington Republicans and Politico are abuzz today with speculation about a possible 2024 presidential run by Senator Tim Scott.

“Trump who?” asked POLITICO this morning. “GOP senators rave over a potential Tim Scott presidential run: The South Carolina senator isn’t committing to a White House bid yet, but his colleagues think he’d have a shot in a possibly tough field.”

Republicans can perhaps be forgiven for any second, third, or fourth thoughts they may be having about the advisability of another Trump run in 2024.

Some Republicans in the press are coming up with long lists of ways in which, “Trump Can Win in 2024.

They are mostly filled with things Trump is very unlikely to do, like, “Disappear for a while, or at least, don’t try to hog the limelight,” and, “Quit talking about 2020,” and, “Quit endlessly berating Republicans you don’t like,” and, best of all, “Conquer yourself, Mr. Trump.”

“Let Congress handle Hunter Biden, the Twitter revelations, etc,” begged Mark Lewis for Townhall on December 12. “They aren’t going to, of course, but there is absolutely nothing you can do about that except make it worse by constantly harping…
