As the history books will show, the 2024 presidential election concluded spectacularly with Donald Trump defeating Kamala Harris.

Since the upset, significant questions have been raised about the Democratic Party’s approach to the race. Many political analysts and party strategists have arrived at an unexpected conclusion: Donald Trump didn’t win the race so much as the Democratic Party lost it.

But why?

With the incumbency advantage, unparalleled fundraising prowess, a history-making candidate in Vice President Kamala Harris, and a cadre of celebrity endorsements, the Democratic Party seemed to have the 2024 in the bag.

Pollsters certainly thought so, even if Kamala Harris’s former staffers have since admitted that internal polling never showed Harris leading Trump in the 2024 race for President.

Now that it’s much too late, many Democrats are also wondering publicly if skipping the primary was a good idea.
