Chicago Residents Sue to Stop Tent City

The city is running out of room for the busloads of immigrants still arriving weekly and city residents are running out of patience.

The claimants filed the suit in September, and it is now coming to a head.

“More than 24,000 migrants have arrived in the Windy City since last year,” admitted Rodriguez Poleo. “Mayor Brandon Johnson estimates Chicago will spend roughly $255 million on the migrant crisis in 2023.”

Many Chicago residents weren’t happy with the worsening situation, even before the Mayor’s latest bid to house newly arriving migrants.

“South Shore activists Natasha Dunn, Jimmy Darnell Jones and others filed the lawsuit in September against the city, Democratic mayor Brandon Johnson and Chicago public schools,” reported Rodriguez Poleo. “The plaintiffs claim the use of public buildings to house migrants is a nuisance to the community and accuses officials of violating codes as they desperately search for room to shelter asylum seekers.
