Are Democrats Waiting for a Red Flag? Here It Is.
Biden is campaigning for struggling Democratic candidates…in Oregon.
“Oregon is suddenly in jeopardy, and Joe Biden wants to help,” reported POLITICO yesterday. “The president is hitting the trail in a traditionally Democratic state that is threatening to slip away.”
According to the writers of POLITICO, it’s a move that, “says as much about Democrats’ struggles in the reliable blue state as it does about his own careful approach to the midterms.”
POLITICO had recently noted Biden’s so-called, “Delicate Midterm Dance”. For the most part, the President- likely due to his sagging approval ratings- is avoiding swing districts in favor of friendlier blue ones.
Whether or not President Biden’s efforts will help or hurt gubernatorial candidates like Oregon Democrat Tina Kotek is far from certain.
“Whenever the president shows up, it wakes people up,” Kotek was quoted by KATU-TV. “Just for enthusiasm, I think it’s great.”
Kotek’s extremely viable Republican opponent in the Oregon Governor’s race, standout candidate Christine Drazan, called the President’s visit, “the D.C. political class is in full panic mode.”
