Sometimes the loudest voices on an issue are loud for a reason.

They are hiding something.

This seems to be the case quite often in NY in particular.

First, anti-prostitution and corruption Governor Elliot Spitzer got caught in the middle of a prostitution and money laundering ring and was forced to resign.

Now, anti-sexual assault crusader and leader of the #Resistance, NY State Attorney General Eric Schneiderman, has been exposed as a serial perpetrator of sexual assault.

Credit to Ronan Farrow whose reporting also brought down Harvey Weinstein. Note to sexual predators in positions of power: If you are out there, your time is coming because Ronan Farrow will find you!

Schneiderman was considered an extremely important democrat and even likely the next Governor of NY.

But the reporting by Jane Mayer and Ronan Farrow was so strong and so credible that within hours, the AG was pushed out of office, much like Spitzer before him.

If you have not read through the entire list of allegations from the multiple women Farrow and Mayer spoke to, I highly suggest you do so, though I must warn you that it will be tough to get through without being completely horrified.

One woman, who is from Sri Lanka, described Schneiderman calling her his “property” and a “brown slave.”

“When Schneiderman was violent, he often made sexual demands. ‘He was obsessed with having a threesome, and said it was my job to find a woman,’ she says. “He said he’d have nothing to look forward to if I didn’t, and would hit me until I agreed.” (She had no intention of having a threesome.) She recalls, ‘Sometimes, he’d tell me to call him Master, and he’d slap me until I did.’ Selvaratnam, who was born in Sri Lanka, has dark skin, and she recalls that “he started calling me his ‘brown slave’ and demanding that I repeat that I was ‘his property.’ ”

Another recalled the AG relentlessly verbally abusing her about her weight in a manner that caused her to lose 30 pounds and become emaciated. Yet another said she was routinely abused but was told that she should stay silent because Schneiderman was too important to the democrat party.

This is a man, after all, who was held up as a champion of women because of his support for abortion and his loud rhetoric against sexual predators.

Not to mention his boisterous posturing against President Trump, something that got him hailed as a hero by television host Samantha Bee.

All of the women recounted terrifying verbal and physical abuse — including eeeking medial attention — which should shatter once and for all the myth that being a “progressive” somehow makes you a better person or immune from being the exact type of monster you point the finger at others for being.

And all of this has an extra touch of irony since Schneiderman was on the front lines in attempting to make a case to prosecute disgraced film executive and serial abuser of women Harvey Weinstein.

All of this goes to show that when somebody like Schneiderman seems to be grandstanding and making loud noise so often publicly, he may very well be hiding something incredibly sinister privately.

Thankfully, Schneiderman is finished as NY State Attorney General, but with the sleaze we keep uncovering on a regular basis in the empire state, Lord only knows who is next.

Regardless, I truly hope this serves as some sort of warning to men in positions like Schneiderman — and Weinstein for that matter — but given how often these types of people are being exposed these days, I unfortunately think this may just be the tip of the iceberg.

And as a father of three daughters, that is a frightening thought.
