2025: Best of Times for Conservatives, Worst of Times for Progressives?

It’s a tale of two Americas since Election Day as Republicans embrace a new sense of optimism and Democrats resign themselves to disaster.

Optimism is in the Air,” conservative convert and independent political analyst Sasha Stone enthused recently.

But optimism, as Stone noted, is mainly only present on one side of the political spectrum this holiday season. Republicans are optimistic: Progressives are taking a somewhat dimmer and decidedly darker view.

“Not to mention assassinations,” Sasha Stone noted grimly of her own left-leaning relations.

“There was intense adoration and focus on the new hero of the Left, the assassin Luigi Magione, who has been arrested and is now on trial for shooting a healthcare executive,” mused Stone. “He’s become a hero, especially to women and younger family members.”

“It made me think of Walter Kirn’s prophecy in his podcast with Matt Taibbi, America This Week, where he said that it was a little too convenient that Mangione had emerged now, in the wake of a shocking, humiliating defeat of the progressive Left,” added Stone. “They needed their own populist hero, and they got one.”
